Did you ever stop to think about how important a role balloons have played in some famous feature films? Think about it: Going back to 1956, there was a delightful French film called “The Red Balloon,” a tale about a little boy being followed through the streets of Paris by a bright red balloon with a mind all its own!
And how about 1995’s “The White Balloon”? That’s a heartwarming story about a little girl in Iran who is obsessed with buying a chubby goldfish for her family’s pond. When she loses the money her mother gave to her, a little boy selling balloons comes to her rescue. With his very last balloon–a white balloon–tied to a stick, he and his new friend attach a piece of gum to the balloon stick and use it to retrieve the money that has fallen into a sewer grate. See? Balloons always save the day!
More balloon magic ensues in 2007’s “Flight of the Red Balloon,” in which a young Chinese boy and his babysitter share a magical imaginary world within the streets of Paris that they are led through by a mysterious red balloon!
Balloons play a more thought-provoking role in 2008’s “The Black Balloon,” in which a young boy tries to accept his brother’s autism.
In 2009, balloons took flight–literally!–in the animated smash, “Up!” An old curmudgeon’s house literally lifts off its foundation, thanks to thousands of brilliant balloons tied to it, on its way to madcap adventures!
An animated balloon adventure of a slightly darker kind is 1998’s “Billy’s Balloon,” in which a stray red balloon wraps itself around stick-figure “Billy”‘s hand and promptly does everything it can to put him in peril! Whoa! Luckily, most balloons are sweet little things, aren’t they?!
If balloons can make movie magic, they can make magic for you, too! Party Fiesta Balloon Decor is pure proof of that fun fact!
