Without flowers, Valentine’s Day would be very boring! Without flowers, the bees would have no place to hang out! So, what’s wrong with each of us doing our little part to keep the planet flowerful?! Not a thing! In fact, it’s so “right,” that a special day has been set aside to celebrate the planting of flowers everywhere! March 12 is “Plant a Flower Day,” so that’s as good a day as any to get your “green thumb” into high gear!
Many schools celebrate by letting the students loose in the campus garden with a shovel and seeds and letting them enjoy the feeling of doing something important to protect the environment; many businesses “green up” their otherwise sterile-looking grounds by planting rooftop gardens and scattering flower patches all around their buildings. Honestly–who doesn’t love flowers?!
So, this March 12 (and every day!), get down into the dirt and get those flowers planted! Our planet will love you for it!
